Fixed deposit account

A fixed deposit account can be opened in the name of:

1.       Individual in their own name being:

  • Citizen of Bhutan
  • Non national resident
  • Non national- nonresident(subject to approval from the management & RMA)
  • NGO national
  • NGO international

2.       More than one individual in their joint name not exceeding three in number

3.       Illiterate person to be operated by thump impression

4.       Blind person

5.       On behalf of minor by his natural guardian or by a guardian appointed by the court

6.       Government

7.       Government corporations

8.       Joint corporations

9.       Commercial banks

10.    Non banking financial instantiations

11.    Private companies

12.    Trust, societies, clubs & educational institutions

Documentation

Applicants must satisfy the following documentation requirements:

For Individual National Citizen

  1. Copy of Citizenship identify card
  2. Passport size photo(2)

For Individual non national

  1. Citizenship identity
  2. Voter ID card
  3. Passport
  4. Work permit
  5. Letter of introduction from employer of Bhutan

For Companies & others

  1. Copy of trade license
  2. Certificate of incorporation
  3. Management approval/board resolution of the company authorizing the company to open an account in the bank
  4. List of authorized signatories
