The armed personnel should have three years of service
For the regular employees:
Grade 10 and above
An applicant is eligible for loan upon completion of their probation period.
But he/she should present a guarantor who is equivalent to his grade or higher and who has a confirmed service of 3 years or above
For Grade 11 and below
An applicant should have a minimum of 3 years confirmed service backed by secure PF Contribution.
The guarantor is not required if the applicant meets the above criteria.
For loan Nu 1,50,001.00 to Nu 5,00,000.00 only
An applicant should have a minimum of 5 years confirmed service backed by secured PF Contribution.
Guarantor not required.
Maximum limit of 500,000 can be sanctioned based on the net pay irrespective of grade.
The Citizenship identity card copy of the applicant as well as a copy of the personal book for the armed forces. The clients are required to be present with the original copies at the time of processing the loan.
An Undertaking form (Appendix 1) duly filled and signed by the Head of the Administration and Finance Division and recommended by the Head/Deputy Head of the agency/department/organization.
The Head of the agency/department/organization for the purposes of this loan shall mean the Director of the department, Dzongdag for the Dzongkhag, Managing Director of the autonomous bodies and corporations.
An Application Form (Appendix 2) duly filled and signed by the applicant with the recommendation of Head or Deputy Head of the Agency.
Initial appointment order and the latest promotion order of the applicant.
Two recent photographs of the applicant.
Latest pay slip signed by the Finance Officer and or Head of Finance Department / Division / Organization of the agency / department / organization.
Terms and Conditions
The maximum loan amount shall be Nu.500,000.00 (Ngultrum five hundred thousand) and the minimum of Nu.10,000.00 (Ngultrum ten thousand).
The Equal Monthly Installment (EMI) of the loan amount shall not exceed 70 percent of the Take Home Pay. Take Home Pay shall mean the gross salary less all the deductions including house rent, loan repayments, advances etc.
The maximum repayment period shall be five years.
The rate of interest shall be 9.5 % (floating), 11% (fixed) p.a. and late fee of 5 percent p.a.
GE Loan can be availed even if the same has been availed from the other Bank or FIs if the income is adequate for repayment.
